Why Cambridge Lower Secondary?

With a learner-centred approach, the Cambridge Lower Secondary programme is typically for learners aged 11 to 14 years. It nurtures confidence, responsibility, reflection, and innovation – the key attributes of the Cambridge learner profile. It equips students with the academic rigour and problem-solving abilities needed to transition smoothly from Cambridge Primary to Cambridge Upper Secondary or other advanced programmes.

The flexible curriculum allows teachers to tailor learning to individual needs, while internationally benchmarked assessments provide a clear measure of progress. It ensures a dynamic and personalised learning journey that supports every student’s growth and potential.

International Curriculum

The curriculum systematically builds upon learners’ prior knowledge, offering a globally relevant framework that accommodates diverse educational needs. It develops proficiency in English (first or second language), mathematics, science, Cambridge Global PerspectivesTM, and digital literacy. Lessons integrate cultural sensitivity with high-quality teaching and learning resources, fostering a well-rounded academic experience in both local and international settings.

Nurturing Future-ready Learners

Beyond academic excellence, Cambridge Lower Secondary instils critical thinking, adaptability, and a problem-solving mindset essential for navigating an evolving world.

The flexible structure, meticulously chosen resources, and personalised learning interventions empower students to achieve their full potential, shaping them into confident, future-ready individuals.

Student innovators Aarush Mishra & Musharraf Ali, and their mentor Ms Shweta Awasthi (Environment Coordinator) from the Cambridge Section at CMS Rajajipuram Campus I, were honoured with the prestigious Sustainability Award and a USD 3,000 grant in the world-renowned Ciena Solutions Challenge 2024–25, organised by Ciena in collaboration with Digital Promise.

They were conferred this recognition for their project “Empowering Vision: Touching Lives”, which focuses on designing a low-cost Braille tablet that enables visually impaired individuals to access printed as well as digital content independently. The innovation aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 10 – Reduced Inequalities and addresses a pressing global concern with a practical, affordable and scalable technology solution.

The prize money will support further prototype refinement, pilot-level trials and extended outreach to ensure that more communities in need can benefit from the innovation.
