Beyond Academics
Design and Thinking Lab: Where creativity takes flight
Design & Technology Spaces
Design and Technology classes enable learners to identify, analyse, and solve problems through creative thinking, structured planning, and purposeful design. By working with a range of media, materials, and tools, students develop strong technical and design awareness alongside essential skills such as initiative, resourcefulness, inquiry, and ingenuity. Communication skills central to design-making, evaluation, and iteration are also systematically developed.

Inquiry-Based Learning
Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) at CMS Cambridge encourages the natural curiosity and spirit of questioning in students. Moving beyond traditional teaching methods, IBL empowers students to actively engage in the learning process. It encourages them to delve into topics, formulate their questions, and actively seek answers through investigation and exploration. This hands-on approach cultivates a deep understanding of subjects, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning skills – the cornerstones of the world-renowned Cambridge curriculum.
Inquiry-Based Learning ignites curiosity and transforms learners into active explorers. By posing essential questions, students embark on intellectual expeditions, delving into subjects through research, experimentation, and field trips. Collaboration and critical thinking foster a deeper understanding, while reflection encourages self-assessment. This learner-centred approach allows students to actively construct knowledge, develop critical 21st-century skills and a love for lifelong learning.
Visit to Residency
Grade 6 Cambridge learners visited the historic Residency in Lucknow to explore the legacy of the Revolt of 1857. Guided by a historian, they examined key structures, analysed architectural features, and interpreted the stories preserved within the ruins, treating the site as a vital primary source of history. The visit fostered essential inquiry skills such as observation, questioning, and evidence-based interpretation, while encouraging active participation and documentation. This immersive experience deepened their understanding of India’s freedom struggle and left them motivated and well-prepared to continue their historical exploration.

Visit to Jim Corbett National Park
Grade 7 learners from the Cambridge Section participated in a four-day Sustainability Khoj at Jim Corbett, organised in collaboration with Khoj Learning Expeditions (Team Disha India), where they engaged in immersive, hands-on learning within a rich forest ecosystem. Through activities such as birdwatching, trekking, village interactions, river trails, and adventure challenges, students developed ecological awareness, inquiry skills, resilience, and teamwork while gaining insights into community–nature relationships. Guided by facilitators and accompanied by their teacher, they reflected on their experiences in alignment with Cambridge learner attributes, fostering confidence, empathy, and responsibility. The expedition offered a balanced blend of environmental education, personal growth, and experiential learning, leaving students more connected to nature and better equipped as thoughtful, reflective learners.
