Lucknow, April 8–9, 2026: The spirit of sportsmanship and collaboration came alive at City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Extension Campus, as it successfully hosted the CMS Cambridge Inter-School 3×3 Basketball Championship 2026. It was a 2-day celebration of sports skills, teamwork, determination, and competitive excellence.

Bringing together 39 teams from 18 schools across Lucknow, this sporting event emerged as a vibrant platform for young athletes to showcase their basketball skills in a fast-paced, globally recognised 3×3 format.
A Dynamic Start: Day 1 Highlights

In a grand inaugural ceremony, the CMS Cambridge 3×3 Basketball Championship was officially launched by the Honoured Chief Guest, Mr Amandeep Duli, IAS, Additional Commissioner, MGNREGA. In his keynote address, Mr Duli inspired the youth and emphasised the importance of structured school sports in shaping well-rounded individuals. He highlighted that participation in organised sports not only enhances physical fitness but also contributes significantly to students’ academic performance and overall personality development.
The opening day witnessed intense matches across the Under-16 and Under-18 categories for both boys and girls, where participating school teams displayed:

Welcoming the participants and guests, Ms Maseerah Arif (Cambridge Section Coordinator, CMS Gomti Nagar Extension), highlighted that CMS Cambridge is among the pioneering institutions promoting 3×3 basketball, reinforcing its commitment to holistic education.
Ms Aruna Gupta (Head – Child Well-being & Sports and former CMS Principal), Mrs Anupama Checker (Principal, CMS Gomti Nagar Extension and Cambridge Section), and Ms Manjit Batra (Senior Consultant, City Montessori School) addressed the students in the audience.

Grand Finale: A Power-Packed Conclusion to the CMS Cambridge Inter-School 3×3 Basketball Championship 2026
The second day culminated in electrifying final matches that kept the audience on the edge of their seats. The closing ceremony was graced by our Chief Guest, Mr Rudraksh Pandey, a national-level player. Applauding the young athletes, he encouraged them to pursue excellence with discipline and perseverance.
The event also witnessed high-energy dance and a band performance by the school band of CMS Gomti Nagar Extension.
