Major in Design University of Pennsylvania, College of Arts and Sciences

I joined City Montessori School, Cambridge Section, to gain exposure to an international curriculum and a truly holistic education. Alongside academics, I pursued music as a guitarist (ABRSM Grade 3) and vocalist (Visharad in Indian Classical Music) and trained in Bharatanatyam for over twelve years, earning a Prabhakar degree. At CMS, I also served as the Alumni Coordinator for two consecutive years and as President of the Computer Science Club, The Byte Club, while pursuing A Levels in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, and Design & Technology.

In Grade 11, I authored a research paper on EcoStride, a kinetic walkway using piezoelectric cells to generate renewable energy, which earned me a UK patent, and developed SHEETAL, a solar-powered terracotta cooling system achieving a 10°C temperature reduction and securing a German patent. I was also selected for the RISD Pre-College Programme in the United States, where I studied art and activism during an intensive five-week immersion. Through academics, innovation, leadership, and the arts, CMS shaped me into a confident, socially conscious learner, and I am now pursuing a ‘Major in Design’ at the University of Pennsylvania, College of Arts and Sciences.

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Information Technology (Mechatronics), University of Kyoto, Japan

CMS Cambridge has played an important role in my academic and personal growth. Through the Cambridge programme, and particularly Cambridge IPQ (Cambridge International Project Qualification) on nuclear fusion, I gained early experience in research writing, data analysis, and independent work.

This foundation later helped me publish my first research paper as an undergraduate. The rigour of the curriculum strengthened my critical thinking, self-discipline, and time management, while hosting events and participating in school events helped me develop leadership and communication skills with a global perspective.

CMS Cambridge played a vital role in shaping my academic and personal journey. It helped me develop strong analytical thinking, clear communication skills, and the confidence to explore interdisciplinary interests. The exposure and mentorship I received laid a solid foundation for my pursuit of computer science and artificial intelligence.

I believe CMS Cambridge gave me a space to express myself that no other school could have. I remember entering the school in grade 7 as a shy, underconfident student. Over the years, it shaped not just my academic understanding but also my sense of self. I firmly believe that confidence is one of the most crucial parts of any career, and CMS played a powerful role in helping me build it.
