Dr Babita Singh Chauhan is a dedicated leader and politician from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, currently serving as Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission (appointed in 2024). With a strong background in grassroots politics, she has been a Zila Panchayat member from Kheragarh, Agra, and held key roles in the BJP, including vice president of the BJP UP Mahila Morcha and former president of the Braj region Mahila Morcha.

Her career achievements include spearheading women’s safety initiatives, such as mandating female staff in gyms, beauty parlours, and tailor shops; conducting widespread Jan Sunwai (public hearings) for grievance redressal; and promoting schemes for education, nutrition, and empowerment. She emphasises awareness, strict law enforcement, and gender-sensitive education to reduce crimes against women while advocating for women’s participation in decision-making, including support for the Women’s Reservation Bill.
