11th International Interfaith Conference 2026 – Day 1 Highlights

A Grand Inauguration

The 11th International Interfaith Conference 2026 was formally inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Chief Guest Shri Swatantra Dev Singh, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for Jal Shakti and Flood Control, Government of Uttar Pradesh, alongside eminent delegates, CMS management, and senior leadership. 

Addressing the gathering, Shri Swatantra Dev Singh Ji said that the greatest transformations in society are brought about not merely by legislation, but by ideas that inspire people to think and act differently. He remarked that gender equality extends beyond equal rights to include equal respect, equal opportunities and equal trust. Appreciating the pioneering contribution of City Montessori School, he noted that CMS has distinguished itself not only through academic excellence but also by promoting humanity, moral values, world peace and universal brotherhood.

Welcoming the Chief Guest and the distinguished delegates, Dr Bharti Gandhi, Founder-Director of City Montessori School, said that the true essence of every religion lies in promoting human unity, compassion and equality. She expressed confidence that the Conference would inspire society, particularly the younger generation, to challenge discrimination and work towards a more equitable future.

Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, Managing Director of City Montessori School and Chief Convenor of the Conference, highlighted that when religious teachings uphold human dignity, justice and equal respect for women, faith traditions become powerful catalysts for gender equality and positive social transformation.

Conference Convenor and Principal, Ms Khyati Lamba, expressed hope that the deliberations over the next three days would inspire young people to champion gender equality while embracing the ideals of global citizenship, dialogue and service.

Celebrating Unity Through Culture

The inaugural ceremony featured a vibrant cultural programme presented by the students of CMS Rajajipuram Campus II. The performances reflected the ethos and traditions of CMS, offering a warm welcome to the distinguished delegates while reinforcing the Conference’s message of peace, unity and global understanding.

The official unveiling of the 11th International Interfaith Conference 2026 logo was followed by CMS’s iconic ‘World Parliament,’ ‘All-Religion Prayer,’ and ‘World Unity Prayer’ presentations. Each performance reflected the institution’s enduring commitment to the vision of our revered Founder, late Dr Jagdish Gandhi.

One of the most captivating highlights was the spectacular Shiv Shakti dance drama, which received widespread appreciation for its artistic excellence and powerful message.

As the Conference continues over the next two days, participants will engage in keynote addresses, panel discussions and collaborative dialogue exploring how faith, education and shared leadership can help shape a more just, peaceful and inclusive world.
