Dr Ravi Kant Pathak

Dr Ravi Kant Pathak is a distinguished environmental scientist, educator, and social reformer whose work seamlessly integrates scientific research with sustainable development, values-based education, and nation-building. An alumnus of City Montessori School, Chowk Campus, he has dedicated his career to advancing environmental stewardship while championing education as a catalyst for positive social transformation.
An IIT Bombay graduate in Chemical Engineering, Dr Pathak pursued advanced research in air pollution and climate change through a PhD and postdoctoral studies at Carnegie Mellon University, USA. He currently serves as Professor of Air Pollution and Climate Change at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, where his research focuses on climate science, environmental sustainability, and public health.
Inspired by the values and vision he imbibed at City Montessori School under the guidance of the late Dr Jagdish Gandhi and Dr Bharti Gandhi, Dr Pathak returned to India in 2007 to establish Bharat Uday Gurukul, a community-driven initiative dedicated to holistic education, organic farming, water conservation, and rural development. Through this initiative, he promotes an educational model that combines academic excellence with inner growth, character formation, and environmental responsibility.
A firm believer that lasting global change begins with personal transformation, Dr Pathak advocates education that nurtures ethical leadership, compassion, and harmony alongside intellectual development. His work reflects the ideals of the International Interfaith Conference by fostering dialogue between science, spirituality, education, and sustainable development in pursuit of a more peaceful and united world.
