Recognitions and Awards to City Montessori School

City Montessori School (CMS) has continuously set benchmarks in education, fostering academic excellence, global consciousness, and peace through education. Over the years, CMS has earned numerous prestigious awards, establishing itself as a leader in the education sector not only in India but also globally.

Guinness World Record for the Largest School

CMS has achieved the remarkable distinction of being the largest school in the world by pupils, a record first awarded by Guinness World Records in 1999. At that time, CMS had an enrolment of 22,612 students. The certificate, signed by the Keeper of the Records, acknowledged CMS’s significant achievement.

CMS continued to break its own record year after year. In 2010, Guinness World Records awarded CMS an updated certificate recognizing the school for having 39,437 pupils enrolled for the 2010-2011 academic year. The record-breaking journey didn’t stop there. By 2019, CMS reached an enrolment of 55,547 pupils, and as of August 2023, CMS reached its highest enrolment yet with an astounding 61,345 pupils. India School Rankings 2012

In 2012, CMS was honored in the India School Rankings published by Education World. The school received the maximum of 89 points in the parameter of ‘Internationalism,’ which evaluated schools on their commitment to promoting global values among students. CMS was recognized for its remarkable efforts in organizing 32 international events annually and facilitating student participation in global camps and conferences. The school’s strong emphasis on world unity, peace, and global brotherhood was highlighted in the rankings. CMS ranked 6th nationally in the categories of Value of Money and Leadership/Management Quality, and 7th for Community Service. For these achievements, CMS was awarded a Special Merit Award at the Education World India Schools Ranking Awards ceremony in New Delhi on 29th September 2012.

UNESCO Prize for Peace Education 2002

CMS was awarded the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education in 2002 for its dedication to fostering universal values of peace and tolerance through education.
