City Montessori School (CMS) rejoices in the stellar accomplishment of its distinguished alumnus from Aliganj Campus I, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla (affectionately known as Shux). His ascent to the cosmos marks a watershed moment in India’s space odyssey.
On Wednesday, 25th June, at 12:01 PM IST, he embarked upon a celestial voyage aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft as part of the historic Axiom-4 (Ax-4) mission. The following day, at approximately 4:30 PM IST on Thursday, 26th June, he successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS), securing his place in history as the first Indian to reach the ISS and only the second Indian ever to transcend terrestrial confines—41 years after Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma’s interstellar sojourn.
Following his successful 18-day Axiom-4 mission in space, Shux safely returned to Earth on Tuesday, 15 July 2025, at 3:01 PM IST. During his stay, he conducted a series of important experiments, including research on Indian strains of tardigrades, myogenesis, seed sprouting, cyanobacteria, microalgae, crop seeds, and the Voyager Display. These experiments hold significant potential to advance our understanding of biological resilience, muscle development, and sustainable agriculture in space, paving the way for future missions, contributing valuable insights for Earth-based scientific & environmental applications, and inspiring the younger generations to pursue a career in space technology and STEM fields.
This section features a curated compendium of e-articles, news clippings, and videos that chronicle Shux’s extraordinary journey—from the nurturing classrooms of CMS Aliganj Campus I to the infinite expanse of the cosmos. It stands as a tribute not just to his curious spirit and scientific acumen but also to the collective pride of a nation and the luminous promise of its cosmic aspirations.
