Highlights from the National Sports Day: CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus I Students Demonstrate Physical Fitness and Agility

Sports Day at CMS Rajendra Nagar I brought together students across age groups, offering everyone an opportunity to step away from the classroom and experience the joy of active participation. With a range of sporting activities planned throughout the day, the CMS campus reinforced its belief that physical activity is an essential part of a well-rounded education.

The sporting activities began with a special assembly and an early morning swimming session at the school pool. Students across classes took to the water with enthusiasm, setting an energetic tone for the day. Soon after, the main ground echoed with excitement as Class XI students competed in a lively Kho-Kho match.
The younger learners were equally enthusiastic. Students from grades 1 to 5 participated in a variety of fun-filled sports and races. Their infectious excitement, coupled with friendly competition, made the ground a lively space throughout the morning.

Meanwhile, senior students took the sporting spirit forward with team games of their own. A thrilling football match for grades 6 to 12 brought students together on the main ground. Other students from grades 6 to 10 displayed their agility and coordination during an exciting basketball match on the terrace.

A Word of Motivation by CMS Rajendra Nagar I Leadership
The celebration was also an opportunity to reflect on why sport holds such an important place in education. Senior Principal of CMS Rajendra Nagar I, Mrs Jayashree Krishnan blessed the students and appreciated their enthusiastic participation. In her address, she emphasised that sports are an integral part of education. She also encouraged students to make sports a part of their daily lives for a healthy body and mind.
Moreover, Mrs Khyati Lamba, the Principal of CMS Rajendra Nagar I, highlighted the role of sports in holistic development. She lauded the efforts of the students and sports teachers and reiterated how regular participation in sports helps build character, leadership qualities and a healthy lifestyle.

Students cheered for their peers, supported their teams and embraced competition in the right spirit. Furthermore, the efforts of our sports teachers (Mr Ayush Singh Yadav, Mr Madukar Srivastava, Mr Malay Kumar Pandey, Mr Pradeep Shanker, Mr Rituraj Tyagi, Mr Vinay Singh, and Ms Pushpa Mishra) played an important role in creating an organised and engaging sporting experience.

In short, for CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus I students, National Sports Day was more than a series of matches and races. It was a celebration of movement, camaraderie, and the determination to give one’s best. Above all, it reflected the sporting spirit that CMS seeks to nurture—one where every student gets the opportunity to participate, grow and discover the joy of sport.
