Rev. Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok is a revered Mahayana Buddhist monk and a prominent figure in the Tibetan and Indian socio-cultural spheres. As former Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, he played a pivotal role in promoting democratic governance and advancing the Tibetan cause on the global stage.
Currently, he serves as the Senior Advisor to the Bharat Tibet Sayog Manch and Patron of Salute Tiranga, a patriotic initiative championing national unity and pride. He is also a Board Member of the Tibetan Cultural and Religious Publication Centre, contributing actively to the preservation of Tibetan spiritual literature and heritage.
With decades of unwavering dedication to Buddhism, interfaith dialogue, and Indo-Tibetan relations, Acharya Phuntsok remains a guiding light of peace, humility, and cultural harmony. In recognition of his exemplary public service, he was honoured with the prestigious Dr Shyamaprasad Mookerjee National Excellency Award for Outstanding Public Leadership.
