H.E. Dr Pakalitha Bethuel Mosisili is a prominent Lesotho politician who served as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho from 1998 to 2012 and again from 2015 to 2017, demonstrating sustained political leadership over nearly two decades. A founding member of the Democratic Congress and long-time leader of the Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD), he played a central role in shaping Lesotho’s modern political landscape. Holding a Ph.D. in Education, Dr Mosisili has been deeply committed to national development, peacebuilding, and democratic governance throughout his career. His tenure was characterised by efforts to strengthen Lesotho’s political stability, improve educational infrastructure and access, and promote regional cooperation within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
