Dr Joseph Emmanuel is the Chief Executive and Secretary of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) in India. He has an extensive background in education, having previously served as the Director of Academics at the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for many years and held other key roles. He holds a postgraduate degree in commerce and a PhD in financial management. During his time at CBSE, he helped implement technology for examinations and established Centres of Excellence for teacher training. He was instrumental in introducing NEET and has been involved in implementing new assessment tools like Key Stage Assessment (SAFAL) and School Quality Assessment (SQAA).
