Honourable Mr Justice Carlos Alberto Cavuquila serves as Judge-Counsellor of the Tribunal Supremo (Supreme Court) of Angola and is also a member of the Conselho Superior da Magistratura Judicial (Superior Council of the Judiciary), demonstrating his dual role in judicial adjudication and governance. He was appointed to the Supreme Court by Presidential Decree No. 140/23 on 21 June 2023, marking his elevation to Angola’s highest judicial authority. In July 2025, he was honored with the prestigious “Medal of the 50 Years of Independence, Class Peace and Development” in recognition of his significant contributions to the judiciary during Angola’s national independence celebrations.
