CIC-EdL Course Structure

The CIC-EdL qualification course will be conducted from February to May 2023, over a period of 4 months. It includes:

  • Unit 1: Understanding Key Concepts and Theories of Leadership
  • Unit 2: Defining Successful Educational Leadership Practice
  • Unit 3: Action Planning for Developing Leadership

Additional Course Details:

  • Preparation Hours: 150
  • Assessment Portfolio: Includes evidence of practice, learning, and reflection
  • Evidence Length: 3600 words with work-based records

Course Components

Participants will engage in:

  • Guided learning through face-to-face sessions and online content.
  • Mentorship: Each participant will receive one-to-one mentoring throughout the programme.
  • Individual and collaborative learning: Includes reading, research, and discussions.
  • Work-based learning supported by the school: Applying new ideas and approaches in practice, with feedback from mentors and colleagues.
  • Portfolio development: Assistance in creating a comprehensive portfolio of evidence.
  • Certification: A pass or distinction certificate issued by Cambridge.

Assessment

Candidates will be assessed centrally through a portfolio of evidence collected throughout the course. This portfolio must demonstrate knowledge, skills, and understanding within the context of the participant’s campus. Cambridge will issue Pass and Distinction grades upon successful completion.
