Careers Day
Careers Day serves as a dynamic platform for students and professionals to connect, learn about various career options, and network with industry representatives. Held annually in October, this event features sessions conducted by career experts who provide personalized information and address student queries. CMS Careers Day is designed to offer a comprehensive understanding of different career paths, helping students make informed decisions about their future endeavors.
University Fair
The CMS Career Counseling Cell conducts an annual University Fair every August. This event brings together universities from India and abroad, offering students direct exposure to admission officers and the opportunity to gain a broader perspective on their admission decisions. The 2023 University Fair, held on August 24th, saw participation from over 90 universities worldwide. This fair provides invaluable insights and interactions that help students navigate their higher education choices more effectively.
Campus Sessions
Campus Sessions are tailored to meet the specific needs of each CMS campus and are facilitated by campus career counselors. These sessions feature university admission officers and career experts who engage with students in a more personalized setting. By interacting within their comfort zones, students can explore their career options and receive targeted advice, making the experience highly beneficial.
Masterclasses by Chanda Ma’am
Masterclasses are detailed sessions focusing on various topics related to the study abroad process. Conducted by Head Career Counselor, Ms. Chanda Kundra, these sessions cover Advanced Placement Exams, SAT Exams, Study Abroad Information, LOR (Letter of Recommendation) writing, and Statement of Purpose preparation. CMS Gomtinagar Campus 1 is now a test center for AP Exams, with additional campuses registered as AP Training Centers for subjects like Computer Science Principles and Pre-Calculus. In-house subsidized classes for SAT, CUET, CLAT, NEET, and JEE prep are also offered, ensuring comprehensive preparation for students.
IC3 Conference
The CMS Career Counselors regularly attend national and international events, seminars, and conferences, such as the IC3 Conference. This year, the conference was held in Hyderabad from August 22nd to 24th, 2023. A team of counselors, led by CMS President and Managing Director, Ms. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, and Head Career Counselor, Ms. Chanda Kundra, attended the event in person. These conferences provide counselors with the latest insights and trends in career counseling, enhancing their ability to support students.
Sessions on Career Selection
Career selection sessions are conducted at individual campuses by resource persons and campus career counselors. These sessions cover a wide range of career options, including Fashion Design, Computer Science, IAS, and Law. By providing detailed information and guidance, these sessions help students gain a deeper understanding of their potential career paths and make informed choices.
Alumni Sessions
The strong alumni network of CMS serves as a guiding light for current students. Alumni who are studying abroad, such as those in Singapore, are invited to share their experiences and provide firsthand insights into life after school. These sessions, conducted either virtually or in person, enable students to build lasting relationships with their seniors and seek guidance for their future endeavors. Check our alumni portal.
Meritorious Student Function
This event features a presentation by counselors highlighting the activities and events conducted throughout the year at all ISC campuses. It includes achievements, case studies, study abroad admissions, podcasts, and interactions with successful admits in recent years. The Meritorious Student Function celebrates student accomplishments and provides inspiration for others to strive for excellence.
University Visits
Visits by university admission officers are conducted on a more personalized scale at selected CMS campuses. These visits allow admission officers to interact with students and share information about their university offerings, such as scholarships, financial aid, and interdisciplinary courses. These interactions help students understand the unique benefits of different universities and make informed choices about their applications.
IFS Session
A session by Mr. Sandeep Chakraborty, IFS, was conducted at CMS Gomti Nagar Campus 1 and Gomti Nagar Extension. Attended by career counselors and notable alumni, this session provided students with insights into careers in the Indian Foreign Service and other prestigious fields.
Education USA Session
A session conducted by Education USA featured a representative from USIEF, Ms. Aliza, who shared information about the study abroad process for the USA. Topics covered included tips for university applications, visa processes, and required documentation.
