The safety and security of students have always been our top priority at City Montessori School (CMS). Since our establishment in 1959, we have developed and refined a comprehensive set of safety policies designed to protect every student. These safety measures are continuously updated, with the most recent revisions made in September 2017, to align with current best practices.
Key Safety Policies at CMS
1. General Safety Policies
- CCTV Surveillance: To ensure the continuous safety and security of students, extensive CCTV coverage is installed across all CMS campuses, providing 24/7 monitoring.

Safety and Security Committees
CMS has established multiple safety and security committees to oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of our safety policies:
Campus-Level Committees
Each CMS campus has its own Safety and Security Committee, led by the Principal and designated staff members. These committees meet monthly to review safety procedures, address any concerns, and ensure the ongoing safety and security of students.
Central Safety and Security Committee
The Central Safety and Security Committee, led by CMS President Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, oversees the implementation of safety policies across all campuses. This committee reviews the minutes from campus-level meetings and addresses broader safety issues.
Committee Members and Responsibilities:
- Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon: Manager, ensuring the overall safety and security of students.
- Mrs. Aruna Gupta: Chair, CMS Child Safety & Security Committee, overseeing child well-being and safety.
- Mrs. Lata Saxena: Functional Secretary to the Founder-Director, advising on physical safety aspects.
- Mr. Alok Singh: Head, Workforce Department, supervising support staff vital to campus safety.
- Mr. Santosh Tiwari: Chief Security Officer, handling security in collaboration with external agencies.
Child Well-Being at CMS
Beyond physical safety, CMS places a strong emphasis on the psychological and emotional well-being of our students. Each campus has a qualified psychological counselor available to support students with personal issues confidentially.
Ongoing Safety Training
Regular staff training is a cornerstone of our commitment to the safety and security of students. These sessions ensure that all CMS personnel are up-to-date on the latest safety procedures and best practices.
