Competition Details
Who Can Take Part
- Open to students of Classes X, XI, and XII across all CMS campuses.
- Entries should be original, hand-drawn cartoons or caricatures on an A4 sheet — this is very much a competition of hand and imagination, not of software.
- A caption may accompany the artwork where it adds to the idea, though it is not obligatory.
- Name, class & section, and campus should be noted clearly on the reverse of the sheet before scanning.
How to Submit
Scanned entries (maximum file size 5 MB) may be uploaded through the link or QR code shared with each campus. Principals and Cambridge Coordinators will have received campus-specific folder access to streamline collection and forwarding.| Submission Deadline: 25 July 2026 |
From Submission to Spotlight — The Journey of an Entry
Once an entry leaves a student’s hands, here is roughly what happens to it next, and when:- 1st to 25th July 2026 — Campus submissions are received, and every entry is compiled centrally.
- 25th July – 5th August 2026 — All eligible entries go live on this page for open, public voting. Friends, family, teachers, and fellow students across 22 CMS campuses are warmly encouraged to spend a few minutes browsing the gallery and casting a vote for the cartoon that speaks to them most — through this window, look out for entries being featured regularly across CMS’s social media channels as well.
- 5th August – 31st August 2026 — Alongside the public voting tally, a distinguished panel comprising senior Principals and eminent experts, including a professional cartoonist, reviews the entries on artistic merit, originality, and how well the theme has been captured.
- 5th September 2026 — Winners are announced and felicitated at the CMS Teachers’ Day celebration, in the presence of esteemed guests, continuing the spirit of the Ram Ugrah Memorial Annual Lecture tradition.
Recognition for Every Entry
Every submission, whether it places among the top three or not, is a small act of courage — a student choosing to say something true about the world through a drawing. That is worth recognising in full:
- All three winners additionally receive a book on the art of cartooning
- Every remaining participant receives a certificate of recognition
