Honourable Mr Justice Afrim Fidani

Honourable Mr Justice Afrim Fidani was elected President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of North Macedonia on 26 May 2025 by the Judicial Council, after serving as Supreme Court judge since 2017. During his election, he presented a clear action plan with specific timeframes aimed at improving judicial conditions and performance, distinguishing his candidacy through concrete reform proposals. He holds a law degree from the University of Pristina (graduated 1989), bringing over three decades of legal experience to his leadership role. Before his Supreme Court appointment, he worked in diverse roles including the State Labour Inspectorate, municipal official positions, and as an advocate, providing him with comprehensive understanding of legal practice across multiple sectors. As Supreme Court President, Justice Fidani is expected to steer efforts toward reforming court efficiency, improving case management systems, and strengthening the judiciary’s overall capacity and effectiveness in North Macedonia
