Dr. Amrita Banerjee is an Indian Foreign Service officer (2016 batch) currently serving as Deputy Secretary (FT & NRG) at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), New Delhi. She oversees comprehensive training programs for diplomats and civil servants, focusing on enhancing diplomatic skills and engagement with the Indian diaspora. Previously, she served as Under Secretary (EW) managing bilateral relations with Eastern European countries including Ireland, Luxembourg, and Spain. An accomplished academic, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in American Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, combining scholarly rigor with diplomatic practice. Dr. Banerjee actively promotes international collaboration and cultural exchange, exemplified by her participation in initiatives like the Global South Young Diplomats Forum. Her work highlights commitment to advancing India’s diplomatic outreach while training the next generation of diplomats to navigate complex international relations with cultural sensitivity and professional excellence.
