Honourable Justice Dr Flavian Zeija

Deputy Chief Justice, Supreme Court, Uganda

Honourable Justice Dr Flavian Zeija is the Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Uganda, having been appointed in February 2025. A Ugandan lawyer and academic with a strong reputation in the legal fraternity, he earned a PhD in Law from the University of Dar es Salaam, a Bachelor and Master of Laws from Makerere University, a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, and a Master of Business Administration from Uganda Martyrs University. Described as having a passion for access to justice and as someone who respects the law and humanity. He recently met with a team from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to discuss strengthening Uganda’s justice system.
