Prof. Dr Shailendra K Saxena is a distinguished professor and Vice Dean at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow. He is also the Head of the Centre for Advanced Research, Faculty In-charge of the MOU Cell, and Nodal Officer for the Placement Cell. Dr Saxena is a globally recognised biomedical scientist specialising in viral infections and is known for his research in molecular biology, particularly on Japanese encephalitis and HIV. His research aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, and his work on vaccines contributes to global health initiatives. Recognised as a “Global Leader in Science” by The Scientist magazine and a fellow of prestigious societies, such as the Royal Societies of Biology and Chemistry, he has received numerous awards and honours, including the Dr JC Bose National Award.
