Honourable Mr Justice Michael Musonda, S.C., serves as Deputy Chief Justice of the Republic of Zambia and Judge of the Supreme Court. An eminent scholar and practitioner, he holds law degrees from the University of Zambia, King’s College London, and the University of Oxford. Before joining the Bench, he practised law for over two decades and taught at both the University of Zambia and the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE). As Deputy Chief Justice, he has guided reforms in judicial modernisation, access to justice, and institutional capacity building. His leadership combines academic rigour, practical experience, and administrative acumen, making him a key architect of Zambia’s judicial transformation.
