15th Celesta International 2026
An Ethereal Crescendo

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world.”  — Albert Einstein

In a world increasingly shaped by rapid technological change, artificial intelligence, and global interconnectedness, the human capacity for imagination has become one of our most vital assets. While imagination is the ability to form ideas, creativity is the ability to transform those ideas into something tangible, meaningful, or original. It allows individuals to see possibilities where none appear to exist, to innovate beyond limitations, and to contribute meaningfully to society.

In the current evolving landscape, creativity is no longer an optional talent — it is a fundamental life skill.  Today’s learners are entering a future where success will depend not merely on what they know, but on how creatively they think. Creative thinking forms the cornerstone of cognitive flexibility and emotional intelligence, enabling individuals to adapt, collaborate, and solve complex problems in dynamic environments.

According to the ‘Future of Jobs Report 2025’ by the World Economic Forum, ‘creative thinking’ is ranked among the top 10 core skills of increasing importance for the workforce of the future, alongside analytical thinking and resilience. Moreover, UNESCO emphasises that arts education and creative expression play a vital role in developing problem-solving abilities, empathy, collaboration, and cultural understanding — competencies essential for sustainable societies.

Research across educational psychology consistently shows that the foundation of creativity is built in early childhood and adolescence, when learners are encouraged to explore, experiment, and express themselves without fear of judgement. Schools therefore carry a profound responsibility, not only to impart academic knowledge, but to nurture imagination, originality, and confidence.

It is within this educational philosophy that City Montessori School (CMS) envisioned Celesta International.

The Vision Behind Celesta International

Celesta International was conceptualised in alignment with the visionary ‘Broader, Bolder’ educational philosophy of our revered Founder-Manager, the late Dr Jagdish Gandhi, who believed that education must nurture the child intellectually, emotionally, creatively, and spiritually, while promoting global unity and peace. Inspired by the timeless ideal of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ Dr Gandhi envisioned creating a global platform where creativity becomes a bridge for cultural understanding, collaboration, and peace.

Thus, the festival was conceived with the understanding that through music, dance, art, photography, and design, students can discover not just their individual talents but also their shared humanity, fostering mutual respect, empathy, and international friendship.
