Annual Sports Day 2024 at CMS, Aliganj Campus 1 was a long awaited thrilling and remarkable journey. It was held on the 28th of December, 2024. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation. As the event unfolded, the talents and enthusiasm of everyone involved was showcased.
Key Highlight
The day successfully, with much creativity encapsulated the significance of SDG 3 :- Health and Well Being. This SDG elucidates the ensurance of healthy, fit lives and the promotion of well being across all age groups.
Acknowledgment
The esteemed Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Neeraj Boraji, the MLA of Lucknow North. The respected principals of various branches of City Montessori School, Mrs. Shipra Upadhyay, Head Capacity Development, Student Voice and Events, CMS and Mrs. Aruna Gupta, Student Well-Being, Safety and Sports Coordinator, CMS, honored the occasion with their gracious presence.
Welcoming the Chief Guest
The Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour were welcomed whole-heartedly by the Senior Principal of the branch, Aliganj Campus 1, Mrs. Jyoti Kashyap. Our respected Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdom, introduced the Guests of Honour and paid them her most sincere regards for their presence.
School Prayer and Hymn
The day took an authentic and grounded start by reminiscing the core figure of the Almighty. The school prayer and hymn added a touch of euphonic rhythms, setting a serene tone for the event. It strengthened the sense of unity among all present there. It also reminded us of our school’s mission to promote the ideals of humanity and morality.
The Meritorious Achievers and the Determined Staff Faculty of CMS
Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdom expresses a deeper sense of delight and accomplishment through her flawless speech by admiring the Staff Faculty for their underlying endeavors in nurturing the shining stars of our nation, including UPSC Topper IAS Aditya Shrivastava, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla and Clat Topper Shantanu Dwivedi.
School Flag hoisting on the Annual Sports Day
Dr. Boraji proudly hoisted the School Flag, assisted by the School Band and Flag March led by the Deputy Head Boy, Amritansh Kumar. The school flag symbolizes our motto of “JAI JAGAT”.
Lightning of Torch and Oath Taking ceremony
The Deputy Head Girl, Sanjeevni Komal, presided over the ceremony of Lightning of Torch and Oath Taking, evoking the raw emotions of harmony and goodwill. It set the atmosphere with core ethics of hope, peace and unity.
Our Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon paid a heartfelt tribute to our Founder Manager, Dr. Late Jagdish Gandhi, prevailing a deeply felt emotional atmosphere.
Declaration of Annual Sports Day open
The Chief Guest, Dr. Boraji officially the meet open by releasing balloons, marking the beginning of the anticipated athletic events.
Welcome Dance
The Junior and Senior section girls performed the Welcome Dance gracefully, prior to the start of the athletic events. In alignment with the primary belief of CMS, World Unity and Religious Tolerance, it highlighted the beauty of diversity.
Annual Sports Day Athletic Events
The Umbrella Drill: performed with utmost synchronization by the youngest of all, class III students left a remarkable impression etched in the minds of the parents. Slow Cycle Race: performed by the seniors was an amusing competition to behold, leaving the audience in an awe of perplexity of the students’ balancing skills. Races of 100 Mt.: run by the students ranging from the youngest classes of III to the senior most classes of IX.
Gymnastics and Pyramids: additionally thrilled the audience, showcasing coordination, agility and flexibility among the students. Santa Decorating the Christmas Tree Race: melted the hearts of the parents with sheer adoration whilst seeing the young ones make their fair and square efforts to embellish their trees. The Bottle and Hoop Drill: presented by the students of class V added on to the preexisting gist of flabbergasted atmosphere with their body coordination. Tug of War: between the boys of the senior section and their fathers was, above all, the highlight of all the competitions that took place. It was an impeccable family dynamic to have witnessed.
Champions Trophy of the Annual Sports Day – The Love House bagged and lifted the Champions Trophy with hearts protruding as high as the sky.
Rhythms of the States
The final performance of this occasion was the Rhythms of the States. It encompassed all the exquisite traditional ethics which run across our nation, presenting them with sheer elegance. The folk dances showcased were that of Maharashtra, West Bengal, Punjab and Rajasthan. This performance lined itself with CMS, abiding by its core morals, instilling a much deeper understanding of the wonders of diversity and inclusivity. Furthermore, it proved that although we come from different regions, we all still belong together.
The National Anthem marked the end of this rollercoaster ride, leaving the trails of patriotism in hearts of all. In addition, the Sports Day demonstrated physical strength and showcased the students’ exceptional talents, inspiring everyone present. It put forth the fundamental ideologies of ‘The World Is A Family’ and ‘Religious Tolerance’. Moreover, it focused equally on the third SDG, emphasizing the importance of health and well-being for all.
