Quality Makers converge at CMS Kanpur Road to make ICSQCC 2019 a grand success

The 22nd International Convention on Students' Quality Control Circle (ICSQCC-2019) was organized by CMS Kanpur Road Campus from 27 to 30 November at the Campus auditorium. It witnessed the participation of around 1000 world renowned quality experts and students from 16 countries of the world viz Australia, Bangladesh, China, Ireland, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nepal, Qatar, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Thailand, USA, UK, UAE and India. Chief Guest, Dr Dinesh Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister, UP, lit the sacred lamp of learning on 27 November to inaugurate the Convention along with eminent personalities like Shri Ramapati Shastri, Minister of Social Welfare, UP and Mrs Anita Arathoon, eminent educationist and renowned quality experts from across the globe. Distinguished speakers at the Convention included Dr. Syed Ali, John Hopkins University, USA; Prof. Dinesh Chapagain, Chairman, QUEST, Nepal; Dr. Hayal Koksal, President, Association for Innovative Collaboration, Turkey; Mr Madhukar Narrain, Chairman, MSQCC, Mauritius; Mr Jeff Dewar, CEO, Quality Digest, USA; Mr M. R. Kabir, Pro Vice Chancellor, University of Asia Pacific, Bangladesh; Mrs Anita Arathoon, renowned author, New Delhi, India; Mr Shan Ruprai, Chairman, Australian Institute of Business Management, Australia and others. Students of various countries presented their case-studies and participated in competitions like quality quiz, collage, debate, poster and slogan making, skit etc. Convener of ICSQCC-2019 and Senior Principal of CMS Kanpur Road Campus, Dr (Mrs) Vineeta Kamran said that the present age belongs to quality and today we need quality persons who can become leaders and shapers of the destiny of mankind. The International Quality Control Convention concluded with a closing cum prize distribution ceremony at which winners of various contests were specially honoured and awarded prizes.

World Peace Festival ‘Confluence 2019’ blooms with talent

Over 500 students from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Uganda and various states of India joined in to make Confluence a great success. Talents poured out in the well-decorated auditorium and the air was fragrant with ideas of world unity and world peace. Chief Guest, British Scientist, Dr Roger David Kingdon inaugurated the World Peace Festival organized by CMS Indira Nagar Campus on 4th December at CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium. Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest, Dr Roger Kingdon said that knowledge is a powerful tool that empowers a person. However, to avoid misuse of this knowledge, it is important to impart peace education and inculcate good human values in children at an early age. CMS students welcomed the guests by putting up a scintillating show of music and dance to enthrall the audience at the inauguration. Competitions held from 5 to 7 December included Brain a Thon (Quiz); Opera House (Drama); Waram So (Experimental Science Demonstration); Rhythmic Taal (Choreography) and Confluence (Team Event) etc. Principal of CMS Indira Nagar and Convenor of Confluence, Mrs Ruchi Bhuwan Joshi inspired the participants to put in their very best and participate with full enthusiasm and healthy competitive spirit. The 4-day International Festival concluded on 7 December at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium with a pledge by the students of India and abroad to bring about World Unity and World Peace. Chief Guest, Mr Raj Mehrotra, Director, Regional Science City, Lucknow, inaugurated the Prize Distribution cum Closing Ceremony of Confluence-2019 by lighting the lamp of unity and peace and honoured and awarded the prize winners with attractive prizes, shields, medals and certificates. The overall championship in senior category went to Little Angels High School, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh while Scholastica School, Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh was runner up. The the Junior Championship was bagged by Bluebells School International, Kailash, New Delhi while runner up trophy in the junior section, was bagged by Motilal Nehru Public School, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. It is worth mentioning that more than 500 students from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Uganda and India participated in the four-day International 'Confluence-2019'.

International Environment Olympiad (IEO) 2019 conveys the message of a green earth

Competitions to create awareness

CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II organized a 4-day International Environment Olympiad (IEO-2019) from 12 to 15 December at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. Chief Guest, Mr R Ramesh Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Higher and Secondary Education, UP, inaugurated the function ceremoniously by lighting the lamp of learning. Around 500 students from Nepal and various states of India actively participated in this Olympiad for creating a safe and green environment and a pollution-free earth. Convenor and Senior Principal Ms Manjit Batra said that this event is an effort to enhance children's awareness regarding the conservation of human resources and protection of the environment. Co-Convenor and Principal Mrs Sangeeta Banerjee said that the event will be helpful in changing the mindset of the people and creating a greener environment conducive to healthy well-being and growth of society. The Olympiad was replete with exciting events for boys and girls, like Poetree (Presenting Self Composed Poem), Dancing Waters (Choreography), Imagineering my Future (Re-Designing the Globe), Colours of Symphony (T-Shirt Painting), Wonders of Nature (Environment Quiz) etc. Participating students from various countries revealed beauty of nature and created an awareness to protect the environment through these contests. The four-day International Olympiad came to a grand closure on 15 December at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. On this occasion, the prize winning students were awarded and honoured with medals, shields and certificates. The Overall Championship of IEO-2019 was bagged by the students' team of Bhavan's B. P. Vidya Mandir, Nagpur, Maharashtra. This team won the championship in both junior and senior sections while the Runner-up trophy went to CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I in Senior Section and CMS Rajajipuram Campus I in Junior Section.
