Participants will compete for the following awards:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Fastest Robot, First Runner up and Second Runner up<\/li>
  • Two awards for competing with \u2018Honours\u2019<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    Rules & Regulations:<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
    1. A team must bring to the venue a working robot that must fit inside the starting red coloured block of size 1×1 square foot at the beginning of the race.<\/li>
    2. The height of the robot is unlimited.<\/li>
    3. The race is started by a count followed by a whistle. The participants may switch on their robot by a simple contact switch, any time after the whistle.<\/li>
    4. Once switched on, the participant cannot have any contact with the robot.<\/li>
    5. The robots must be battery-powered. No other energy sources (fuel, compressed air canisters, anti-gravity devices, etc.) are permitted.<\/li>
    6. Remote controls of any kind are not allowed.<\/li>
    7. Each team will be represented by two participants only.<\/li>
    8. The robot can have autonomous guidance on board only. No homing beacons will be allowed to be placed on or outside the finish line.<\/li>
    9. The competition will be conducted in ambient (indirect) sunlight, and several sources of Infrared light may be present.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

      Objectives:<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
      1. The task for these races is for the robots to successfully reach (touch) the end (border plank) in the shortest time.<\/li>
      2. If no robot reaches the finish line in 5 minutes, the one closest to the finish line will be declared the winner.<\/li>
      3. Robots moving out of the playing arena, before reaching the finish line, will be disqualified and removed from the race.<\/li>
      4. Once the race has begun, robots can take any path to the finish (End). This includes going over the obstacle planks placed midway.<\/li>
      5. The robots are allowed to hinder any competing robot in any way.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

        The Playing Arena:<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
        \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
        1. The playing arena is a wooden plane of dimensions 11 x 20 feet, painted in White colour.<\/li>
        2. The border of the playing arena is made from a 1-inch-thick wooden plank and is 4 inches high. It will be painted in White colour.<\/li>
        3. Before the race starts, the robots are placed in a 1×1 square foot area at one end of the arena.<\/li>
        4. This starting square is painted in red colour. A race with twenty obstacles will be placed randomly on the racing arena. These are one-inch-thick wooden planks, 12 inches long, placed in front of the starting area.<\/li>
        5. These planks (shown by the green lines in the diagram) are painted green.<\/li>
        6. The obstacles (wooden planks) are 4 inches high and fixed rigidly onto the playing arena.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
