Theme & Event Summary: Seasons of Life

Participants will use the changing seasons as a metaphor to reflect feelings and emotions expressed through literary pieces.

Objective

This competition aims to encourage students to blend the power of literature with the emotional depth of music. By reciting poems or monologues with live or recorded instrumental support, participants will learn to enhance expression, timing, and stage presence, thereby creating a more immersive and engaging performance.

Competition Norms

  • The competition is designed for the Junior Section.
  • The performance duration must be a minimum of three minutes and must not exceed five minutes.
  • Each team must consist of a minimum of four and a maximum of six participants.
  • The team must create and present an original poem inspired by the given theme.
  • Pre-recorded vocals in the background track are not permitted. Background music may be live (instrumental) or recorded instrumental.
  • The music should complement the recitation and must not overpower it.
  • Participants must bring their own musical arrangements (USB or instruments, if required).
  • Props and costumes are permitted, but they should be relevant to the theme and performance.
  • Plagiarism of content must be strictly avoided.
  • Backdrop on the LED screen will not be provided by the organisers. Teams must submit their music and backdrop at the registration desk during registration.
