Objectives
This competition celebrates the essence of jazz through creative teamwork, where skill, rhythm, and emotion unite. True jazz brilliance emerges not only from solo performance but also from the shared connection and trust between musicians as they explore new musical horizons together.
Competition Norms
- This event is exclusively for the Junior Category.
- Each trio must consist of three instrumentalists, who may also sing while performing on their instruments.
- The performance duration must be a minimum of four minutes and a maximum of six minutes.
- Performances must reflect core jazz elements such as improvisation, syncopation, swing, or blues influence. Participants should maintain jazz style throughout the performance and avoid rhythmic, tonal, or stylistic elements commonly associated with rock music.
- Backing tracks are not permitted.
- Each trio must demonstrate at least one improvisational section.
- The stage setup should remain simple to ensure the smooth flow of the competition.
- The organisers will provide a guitar amplifier, bass amplifier, keyboard amplifier, and a drum kit.
- Teams must bring their own instruments for the performance.
- A backdrop on the LED screen will be provided by the organisers.
