Lucknow, 21 June : Yoga Camps were organized at various campuses of City Montessori School on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga today. The main event was held in the huge premises at CMS Rajajipuram Campus I, wherein the prize winners of the Inter-school Yoga Meet organized by the campus were awarded and felicitated. Earlier, the Yoga Meet was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mayor of Lucknow, Mrs Sushma Kharkwal. On this occasion, CMS Founder-Director Dr. Bharti Gandhi and CMS Manager Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, along with the Principal of Rajajipuram Campus, Mrs Nisha Pandey; Yoga Guru from Sant Asudaram Ashram, Mr Ashok Kewalani; and many eminent personalities, yoga lovers, and a large number of students and teachers performed yoga-pranayama collectively, spreading the message of 'Health through Yoga' to the entire world.

In her address delivered on this occasion, Chief Guest Mrs Sushma Kharkwal said that the involvement of the young generation in yoga will bring constructive changes in society and our future generation will become physically and mentally strong, competent and virtuous. CMS Founder-Director Dr Bharti Gandhi said that yoga has gained popularity all over the world. It may be mentioned that free yoga camps are being organized for all in the morning in various CMS campuses including the latest campus at Shalimar One World, in which a large number of people are participating with great enthusiasm. CMS Manager Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that the purpose of Yoga Meet is to teach everyone the importance of yoga and to make them concerned about their mental and physical health.

The main attraction of the function was the prize distribution of various competitions of the Inter-school Yoga Meet. The host team of CMS Rajajipuram Campus I won the overall championship by scoring the highest points. In the sub-junior boys category, the student team of CMS Mahanagar Campus won the first prize, while the team from Army Public School stood first in the sub-junior girls category. The first prize in junior boys and junior girls categories respectively, was won by Vidya Gyan School, Sitapur and Lucknow Public School, Kanpur Road. In the senior boys category, the first prize was won by CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II while in senior girls, CMS Rajajipuram Campus I was the winner. Vidya Gyan School took away the first prize in the rhythmic yoga girls category and in the rhythmic yoga boys category, CMS Rajajipuram Campus I won the first prize.
