CMS alumni on ladder of success

Himadri Pandey
currently studying at University of Cincinnati, USA
Alumna of Gomti Nagar Campus I

Himadri Pandey, an alumna of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I, has taken a long stride of success in her career. She is currently pursuing her BSc in Computer Science with Math and Physics Minors at the University of Cincinnati, USA. She feels greatly enriched studying in the US, a country, where opportunities abound. She says, “An international experience can change your perspective about a lot of things, it also helps you grow as an individual and makes you independent. Along with the excellent co-op program, UC provides a diverse experience with several learning and growth opportunities.”

Himadri remembers all her teachers and especially Kundra Ma’am who was the counselor at CMS Gomti Nagar Campus. “She was very supportive and helped me through the application process.”

Her advice for her juniors: “I know sometimes it feels like the world is ending if you don’t get the grades you wanted in a test. It feels like that one single grade is going to define the scores you get in entrance exams, the college you get in, the jobs you find after graduation and ultimately your entire life. Trust me that’s not true, it’s easier said than done, but your grades don’t define you or your life. You need to believe in yourself when none of your teachers do, but also don’t let the expectations from friends, family, and teachers burden you and bend you. You are your own person with your own unique abilities; find your uniqueness and shine. Work hard for what you want in life, because there are no free lunches in the world."

Alumnus of CMS Chowk and CMS Rajendra Nagar Campuses

Atul did his initial school at CMS Chowk and Rajendra Nagar Campuses and earned the Residential Merit Scholarship. He also qualified for Janpad Merit Scholarship and NTSE Scholarship in Class X.

His studious nature motivated him to study hard and he was selected for IIT Kanpur in 1989. Coming from a middle class family, his father was an inter college lecturer and his mother a home maker. After graduating from IIT Kanpur, he got a scholarship at the University of Calgary, Canada, for the MSc program. Soon after completing his MSc, he started working in Canada.

In 1995, Atul joined Gennum. Most recently, he joined a startup company, Syntiant Corporation, as VP of Analog Design which is focused in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

Atul’s work in the field of Video and Broadcast, led two of his former employers, Gennum Corp in 2007 and Macom in year 2016 to win the prestigious technical Emmy award.

Atul gives full credit to his alma mater for his growth and success saying “CMS prepares students for hard work and that helped me through my higher education and professional work. At CMS, we were so focused as not to lose a single mark for a simple mistake; this has made my personality to be a perfectionist. That helped me in designing microchips where thousands of things could go wrong. This way, my school experience helped me in avoiding many mishaps during the design time of complex microchips.”
