their opportunities through quality education and initiatives for unity and development.
CMS hosted an eight-day long International CISV Youth Meeting named 'Let’s Work it Out' from 24 June to 1 July 2019. Student delegations from Brazil, Czech Republic, Indonesia, Spain and India, each comprising 6 children (3 boys and 3 girls) of 12 to 13 years of age along with their team leaders participated in this international meeting, which was based on the theme 'Conflicts and Resolution'. A total of 30 students from India and abroad participated in the youth meeting. There was also a tree plantation drive and a Cultural Presentation Night wherein these young participants showcased their respective country's cultural heritage.
At a press conference, the young CISV delegates shared their experiences in the camp and resolved to work for peace and unity in the world.
CMS Founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi was given an overwhelming welcome at Amausi airport by the CMS teachers and staff on his return from Angola. Dr Gandhi was on a visit to Luanda, the capital city of Angola, to attend the '5th International Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of Africa' as the Special Guest of Honour at which he addressed the Chief Justices, Judges and legal luminaries of various African countries at the inaugural session of the conference. President of the Republic of Angola, H.E. Mr Joao Lourenco; Chief Justice of South Africa, Hon'ble Mr Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng;
Representative of the African Union and Commissioner for Political Affairs, Mrs Minata Samate and many more eminent personalities were present on this occasion. Hon'ble Justice Dr Manuel da Costa Arago, Chief Justice of Constitutional Courts of Angola, had specially invited Dr Gandhi to attend this International Conference. Mr Sandeep Srivastava, Project Leader of 'International Conference of Chief Justices of the World' of CMS accompanied Dr Gandhi during this visit to Angola.
On 21 June, a 66 member team of CMS students performed various asanas of yoga at the Headquarters of United Nations Organization delighting the huge gathering of Indians and foreigners. The message of good health, physical and mental fitness and spiritual awakening through the ancient science of yoga travelled across the world. Earlier, before leaving for the US, the entire team of students, led by CMS President Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, met with the Defence Minister of India, Hon’ble Mr Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and sought his blessings.
CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi expressed profound happiness over CMS delegation's yoga performance at the UNO Headquarters, saying that yoga can play a very significant role in making the dream of Indian culture 'Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam', come true. Dr Gandhi happily said it is a moment of great pride for all Lucknowites that children of Lucknow have successfully presented Yoga at the UNO Headquarters.
Inter-school Yoga Meet was organized by CMS Rajajipuram Campus I on 21 June, International Day of Yoga, at the World Unity Convention Centre, CMS Kanpur Road. Chief Guest, Mrs Sanyukta Bhatia, Mayor of Lucknow lit the lamp of long lasting health and happiness to inaugurate the Yoga Meet formally. The Peethadhishwar of Sant Aasudaram Ashram, Sant Sai Chandu Ramji; Founder of CMS, Dr Jagdish Gandhi; yoga trainer Shri Ashok Kevlani; CMS President Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon; Principals of various CMS Campuses along with several dignitaries and yoga lovers performed yoga and disseminated the message of staying fit, across the world. A direct telecast of Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi was shown on screen, performing yoga at Prabhat Tara School Maidan, Ranchi and the students and teachers performed yoga with the Hon’ble Prime Minister. What a unifying and integrating experience is was! Approximately 300 students from 15 schools of Lucknow participated to showcase various yogasanas and yogik actions that kept the audience spell bound. Afterwards, competitions were held in three categories-primary, junior and senior. Senior Principal of CMS Rajajipuram Campus I, Mrs Nisha Pandey was the Convenor of the Yoga Meet.
