MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS 2018-19

CMS Gomti Nagar I team wins US $ 500 prize at 'International Robot Racing Contest' held in Canada

'Ashva' team of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I, comprising student members Astik Saluja, Utkarsh Singh and Kartik Khanna, led by their teacher Mr Siddiq Alam Khan, returned after participating in the International Autonomous Robot Racing Competition (IARRC-2018) held at the University of Waterloo, Canada. 17 teams from USA, Canada, Poland, Thailand, Egypt and many other countries participated in the contest in which only CMS team 'Ashva' was the school level team while the rest were all university level. The CMS team performed very well in Drag Race and Circuit Race events and were awarded Judge's Discretionary Prize which carried 500 US dollars besides the medals and certificates.

Dr Jagdish Gandhi gets Lifetime Achievement Award

CMS Founder-Manager, Dr Jagdish Gandhi was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at North Education Summit organized at Taj City Centre, Gurugram by the premiere education magazine of India, Education Today in the presence of representatives from Top Schools of India for his 60 years of contribution in the field of education. It may be mentioned that due to the unique educational methodology of CMS, students of this prestigious school are creating unparallel academic records in the board examinations year after year. CMS alumni are holding responsible positions in the world.

Sakshi awarded IAYP Gold Medal

Sakshi Pradyumn of CMS Kanpur Road Campus was awarded the GOLD Award by Honourable Sir Dominic Asquith, British High Commissioner to India at the Annual Gold Award ceremony held at the International Centre, Max Mueller Bhawan in recognition of his commendable performance as a part of the IAYP (International Award for Young People) programme. Sakshi has a balanced and an integrated personality and is self-motivated towards social service and philanthropy. He was an active participant in all IAYP activities.

Dr Jagdish Gandhi felicitated with 'Fr George Hess Excellence Award 2018'

CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi was presented with the Fr George Hess Excellence Award 2018 by the Association of Schools for Indian School Certificate at a glittering ceremony held in Kolkata. The prestigious award was presented in its year of inception to Dr Jagdish Gandhi at the National Educational Conference in the presence of over 1500 Principals of ISC and ICSE schools across India for his 'outstanding contribution to the cause of Education, Human Enrichment and World Peace.'

80 CMS students win Rs. 3.2crore National Merit Scholarship

80 CMS students qualified for the prestigious National Merit Scholarship, earning a total of Rs. 3 crore 20 lakh for four years in 2018. The Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India gives this National Merit Scholarship to students to pursue higher studies in Science. Each student gets Rs. 80,000/- per year for five years, a total of Rs. 4 lakh. The scholarship is awarded to those outstanding students who have performed excellently in the ISC (Class XII) Board Examinations and secure a place among the "Top 1%" merit list in the Class XII Board Examinations, to encourage them for higher studies and research in science.

ISSE students' delegation arrives from Peru

A 12-member student delegation of Flemming School, Trujillo, Peru, comprising 2 teachers and 10 students was at CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II in September-October 2018, on a 15-day educational visit under International School-to-School Experience (ISSE) Exchange Programme. These students of Peru attended classes at CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II and participated in co-curricular activities with CMS students under ISSE programme which aims at spreading the ideals of World Unity, brotherhood, friendship and World Peace amongst nations and fostering the spirit of global understanding in students. They also stayed with Indian host families and acquainted themselves with Indian culture, customs and traditions. The delegation comprised students, Gabbriela Castaneda Arce, Diego Del Pinocasanovs, Francisco Gamarra Leiva, Micaela Ganoza Fenadas, Gonzalo Morsles Ramos, Valentino Mostacero Rameos, Santiago Zapata Rojas, Natalia Gilardi, Graciela Sancher and Ricardo Prado, and teachers, Mr Dante Herrera and Ms Judith Portella.

CMS Founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi honoured with Fr J. Maurus National Award for Innovation in Education

CMS Founder-Manager, Dr Jagdish Gandhi was conferred with the Fr J. Maurus National Award for Innovation in Education. This Award was instituted by the Society of St Paul on the occasion of the 55th Birth Anniversary of The Teenager Today, founded by Fr J. Maurus in November 1963.

Establishing the Award at a specially convened gathering at the Alberione Hall, Bandra, Mumbai, Fr Varghese Gnalian, Provincial, India-Nigeria Province of the Society of St Paul, the publisher of The Teenager Today, said, “We are extremely happy to establish this Award in memory of Fr J. Maurus, a pioneering member of the Society of St Paul, an educator par excellence, a great visionary, an innovator and a prolific writer who has to his credit over 125 books, and to confer the 1st Award on Dr Jagdish Gandhi, the Founder-Manager of City Montessori Schools.” The Award consists of Rs 25,000/- in cash, and a citation.

CMS Gomti Nagar among top schools of the country

CMS Gomti Nagar Campus was awarded as the Best School in U.P. and also declared the No.1 Co-Education Day School in Lucknow by the internationally renowned Education World magazine. Education World, along with C-fore, a well known Delhi based market research and opinion polls agency, conducated a survey of ISC schools across the country. The award was received by the Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I, Mrs Abha Anant and Senior teacher, Mrs Seema Tiwari at Hotel Leela Ambience, Gurugram, Haryana. Mrs Abha Anant also received an award with her Headmistress Mrs Saba Husain for Gomti Nagar Campus I for her campus being placed among the top positions nationally in Elite India School Rankings 2018-19.

Shagun nominated for 'International Children's Peace Prize 2018

Shagun Tripathi, a student of Class VIII, CMS Aliganj Campus II, got nominated for the International Children's Peace Prize 2018. The school had forwarded Shagun's name to the Kids Rights Foundation, The Netherlands, for this prize. 109 children from across the globe were nominated for this prize among whom Shagun Tripathi of CMS Aliganj Campus II secured the spot. Kids Rights Foundation, The Netherlands awards this prize every year to those children who show exemplary courage and bravery for children's rights. Shagun exhibited her courage some time ago while saving a girl from the kidnapers.

Amna Khan declared an ISFO Olympiad Award winner





Amna Khan, a student of Class X, CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II, was declared a rank holder in English by the International Society for Olympiad (ISFO). Due to her brilliant performance at the ISFO Examination, she was awarded an all-expense paid educational trip to Singapore.

Kashish Khan excels in music

Kashish Khan, a gifted child of CMS Rajajipuram Campus I, was awarded the ABRSM Level-1 award in Graded Examination in Music performance (grade 1) and passed with distinction in 2018. She also performed in High Scorers' concert at La Martiniere College.

German teachers’ delegation visits CMS

A delegation of 15 teachers from Germany visited CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II to study the pattern of CMS education. Mr Roshan Gandhi, Director of Strategy, CMS welcomed the German Teachers’ delegation and said that their visit will forge stronger relations between India and Germany as both countries have a lot to learn from each other.

CMS students qualify IAS examination

Two CMS students qualified the Civil Services examination 2018 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi. These students were, Swapnil Yadav of CMS Kanpur Road Campus on All India Rank 591, and Dr Avlokita Ashok of CMS Mahanagar Campus on All India Rank 915.
