CMS alumni on ladder of success

Gaurav Goel
Senior President & Regional Business Leader Yes Bank
Medium Enterprises Banking, Ex-student of CMS Mahanagar Campus

Managing a team of 275 professionals spread across 35 cities pan India is no mean task, and that is just what Gaurav is doing. An ex-student of CMS Mahanagar Campus, Gaurav Goel is the Senior President & Regional Business Leader, Yes Bank in the most prestigious Yes Bank.

Son of a retired Superindent Eng. from Irrigation Department, UP, Gaurav has steadily worked his way up in the banking sector. His mother is a housewife and he has two sisters, of which one is a doctor from KGMC, Lucknow, both alumni of CMS.

Gaurav joined CMS Mahanagar Campus in Class VI and left after Class X (ICSE). He did his engineering from NIT Calicut and MBA from IMT Ghaziabad. After this, he worked with ICICI Bank, HSBC and Yes Bank. In a career spanning 20 years, he has worked in retail banking, risk management, corporate banking and structured finance.

Presently in Yes Bank, He looks after Medium Enterprises Banking (corporates with turnover up to INR 500 crore) and Supply Chain Banking managing a team of 275 professionals spread across 35 cities pan India.

Gaurav says that his five years at CMS have left an indelible impression and shaped him into what he is. Team work, Punctuality, Hard work and Honesty were the virtues he picked up in school which continue with him to this date.

Gaurav remembers school life nostalgically saying that home visits by teachers were extremely paying. When teachers visited the homes of children as teacher-guardians, they interacted with parents to ensure that he was utilizing time in a productive manner. These visits were much looked forward to, as they brought the school and home together. Anything troubling the child was immediately was sorted out by the parents and teachers. He also remembers the time when he stood first among all the CMS Campuses and was awarded a prize while his mother was weighed in fruits and flowers

His message rings out loud and clear,” There is no alternative to hard work, respect your parents and teachers. “Hard Work puts you, where Good Luck can find you,”

Although based in Mumbai, he still wants to remain connected with his alma mater. We welcome him to the CMS Alumni Association and are immensely proud of him and we wish him all the best!
