Sakshi Pradyumn

Ex-student of CMS Kanpur Road Campus,
ISC All-India topper 2018

An exceptional scholar, Sakshi Pradyumn is an alumnus of CMS Kanpur Road Campus who has done the school proud with his outstanding achievements. An All-India topper, he secured an enviable 99.50% marks in aggregate in the 2018 ISC Board Examination. His academic prowess led to his admission at the Rochester Institute of Technology, USA on a whopping full scholarship of US$ 2,16,000. However, he opted for the course of Bachelor in Computer Science (Hons.) at the prestigious National University of Singapore, which he is currently pursuing.

His strong foundation was laid during his schooling years in CMS. Enjoying the atmosphere at Singapore University, Sakshi says, “The international experience and engrossing inter-faculty and residential activities are the charms of NUS. Rigorous comprehensive studies cultivate the minds in an enriching manner.” He writes further, “NUS is one of the most respected universities in the world. Ethnicity is not an issue here as you have a strong Indian community and a huge international one to mingle with. Great connectivity to various places is a plus point as well.”

At the same time, he is nostalgic about his Indian roots. Remembering those who inspired him, he says, “Dr Gandhi’s idea of interdependence and global cooperation inspires me. Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon gave me the necessary motivation to study abroad. My Principal, Dr Vineeta Kamran, my teachers and counsellor wrote supportive letters of recommendation, which made my application stronger.”

His advice for the current crop of students, “I believe that de-stressing should be an important aspect in our lives. How fruitful the journey towards our goal is, defines our attitude. Try to engage in various activities in your leisure time. A multi-faceted student with sound reasoning will be a good fit for any college.”

Rounding off his success in a nutshell, he says, "We beam with satisfaction, once what we worked hard for is achieved. Happiness and determination are in our control, not the outcomes. So, put in your best efforts and don’t take undue pressure.”
