At the heart of sustainability lies the power of transformation, and in our upcoming event, we challenge participants to turn recyclable items and trash goods into inspiring works of art. This isn’t just about creativity—it’s about using innovation to promote environmental responsibility and showcasing how discarded materials can become masterpieces with a little imagination.
The Challenge: Repurpose, Reimagine, Create
Participants are tasked with transforming everyday recyclable or trash materials into a piece of art, proving that creativity has no limits when it comes to sustainability. However, there is one essential rule—food matter is strictly prohibited as an art medium.
Each submission must be crafted entirely from 100% recycled or discarded items. While glue, paint, screws, and other fastening devices can be used to assemble your creation, they won’t be factored into the judgment criteria. This ensures the spotlight remains solely on how effectively participants reuse and repurpose discarded items.
Showcasing Thoughtful Consumption
As you prepare your artwork, we encourage a vigilant approach to your consumption choices. Consider the environmental impact of the items you use, and aim to select materials that are easily recyclable or have already been discarded. Highlight the specific recyclable and trash materials used in your presentation to demonstrate your commitment to a sustainable future.
Time Frame and Setup
Participants will have a total of 90 minutes to complete their masterpieces, including setup on the provided soft board. Time management will be key, as this time frame is meant to encourage quick thinking, adaptability, and teamwork.
Group Category
This challenge is open to Group B participants, where teamwork and collaboration are integral to the success of the project.
Judging Criteria
Each submission will be judged on the following criteria, with a total of 20 marks available:
- Effective use of recycled/reused materials – 5 marks
- Originality and innovation – 5 marks
- Creativity – 5 marks
- Overall presentation – 5 marks
The judging panel will assess not just the aesthetic quality of the artwork, but also how well participants have used their materials to convey a message of sustainability and innovation.
Let’s Build a Sustainable Future Together
This event is more than an art competition—it’s a step towards creating a more sustainable world, where we reimagine waste as a resource. So gather your materials, spark your creativity, and take part in this exciting journey toward sustainability.
