160 Jurists from 52 Countries Seal a Resolution for a New World Order Based on Justice and Peace<\/b><\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

In a historic moment, the <\/span>26th<\/sup><\/b>\u00a0International Conference of Chief Justices of the World<\/b>, organised by <\/span>City Montessori School (CMS), Lucknow,<\/b> culminated in the unanimous adoption of the resolution that calls for urgent reforms in the United Nations, strengthened global governance, the elimination of war and terrorism, accelerated climate action, and the integration of peace and global citizenship education into national school systems across the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

The declaration represents the collective <\/span>conviction of more than 160 Chief Justices, Judges, Heads of State, <\/b>and <\/span>other eminent dignitaries from 52 countries<\/b>, who gathered with a common objective: <\/span>creating a safe, just, and peaceful future for over 2.5 billion children worldwide.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

An Event Marked by International Unity<\/b><\/h3>\n

The formal release of the Resolution took place during a press conference at the CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium, in the esteemed presence of the <\/span>Chief Guest, Smt. Sushma Kharkwal, Hon\u2019ble Mayor of Lucknow<\/b>. She congratulated CMS for successfully hosting a conference rooted in the spirit of <\/span>Article 51 of the Constitution of India<\/b>, stating that the declaration aligns with India\u2019s vision of promoting global peace, unity and the rights of future generations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Ratan C Gupta, General Secretary of the Conference, moved the Draft Resolution<\/b> before the august gathering, a unifying moment rooted in the ancient ethos of <\/span>\u201cVasudhaiva Kutumbakam\u201d<\/span><\/i> (the world is one family). The adoption of the declaration symbolised a shared human responsibility that transcends borders, ideologies and governments.<\/span><\/p>\n

The resolution will be sent to all Heads of States and Chief Justices of all countries, and also to the Honourable Secretary-General of the United Nations for consideration and appropriate action\u2014a step forward in creating global cooperation and accountability.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jurists Call for Immediate UN Reforms<\/b><\/h3>\n

Legal experts stressed that the present geopolitical, environmental and humanitarian crises demand comprehensive reforms in the United Nations, including:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Strengthening the UN Security Council<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Reinforcing global peace mechanisms<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Eliminating Weapons of Mass Destruction<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Safeguarding fundamental human rights<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Promoting cross-cultural and global citizenship education<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Several members affirmed that they would continue advocating for reforms upon returning to their home nations, ensuring that the movement extends beyond the conference.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Plenary Sessions Reimagining the Legal Architecture of Tomorrow<\/b><\/h3>\n

    The morning panel on <\/span>\u201cBuilding Tomorrow\u2019s Legal Architecture: Enhanced Arbitration and Judicial Cooperation\u201d <\/span><\/i>set the intellectual tone for the day. Distinguished speakers emphasised that:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Diversity is our strength, but what unites us is our shared commitment to building legal systems that uphold justice, cooperation, and peace across borders. (Honourable Mr Justice Adel Omar Sherif<\/strong>, The First Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt)<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Arbitration has become an effective mechanism for resolving both domestic and international disputes. (Honourable <\/strong> Mr Justice Bheki Maphalala<\/strong>, The Chief Justice of Eswatini and a member of the Supreme Court)<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Where there is no judicial system, the law of the powerful prevails. In such a situation, arbitration becomes a safeguard, an assurance, and a guarantee for international trade. (Honourable <\/strong> Mr Justice Ricardo Li Rosi<\/strong>, Judge, National Civil Court of Appeals and Director General of AIEJ, Argentina)<\/span><\/li>\n
    • The best way forward is to stay engaged in constant dialogue with each other. (Honourable <\/strong> Mr Justice Simativa Perese<\/strong>, Chief Justice of Samoa)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Their reflections anchored the conference\u2019s mission of strengthening global legal cooperation for peaceful coexistence.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Expressing gratitude to the jurists and dignitaries from India and abroad, Conference Convenor and CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, stated that the conference has reignited the flame of global unity and a secure future for the world\u2019s children.<\/span><\/p>\n
