Yet another CMS student qualifies

One more ex-CMS student of Station Road Branch, Ajay Gupta, has qualified in the IAS examination 2008 securing 114th rank in the selected list of the candidates. The other ex- CMS student selected in the same competition held in 2008 is Girivar Dayal Singh. Ajay Gupta has attributed his success to his teachers and mother for inspiring him to achieve something glorious in life. He feels happy to have come up to their expectations.

               The whole CMS family has expressed joy at the selection of Ajay Gupta in the IAS and has congratulated him for it. Mr. Jagdish Gandhi, Founder-Manager of the school, was the first to congratulate him. The Vice Principal of CMS Station Road Branch and other teachers joined Mr. Gandhi in congratulating him.   Mr. Gandhi said Ajay Gupta has maintained the reputation of CMS by his selection in the Indian Civil Services. He informed that about a dozen ex-CMS students have been selected in the Indian Civil Services including Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service.  He further told that a CMS student of Station Road branch had secured 14th position in the All India Civil Services Examinations, who opted for Indian Foreign Service, is now serving as IInd Secretary in the Indian Embassy in Beijing.  He also recounted the names of CMS students who are serving either in IAS or IPS or other services.  He further told the pressmen that CMS has been coaching its students for the Indian Civil Services Examinations ever since CMS Degree College was established.

               Speaking to the press Ajay Gupta told that he owes his success to the CMS academic atmosphere and to the inspiration given by his mother to do something remarkable in life.  He said he was gratified to fulfill the aspirations of his teachers and mother by qualifying in the IAS examination.  Ajay Gupta informed that he was greatly inspired by the daily Morning Prayer assemblies held in CMS when students are exhorted to achieve the highest of success in the branch of one’s choice.  He told that he had also mentally made up his mind to do something extraordinary and therefore devoted all his time to get selected in the highest Indian Civil Services. He informed that besides the daily Morning Prayer assemblies he was inspired by the spiritual talks of Mr. Jagdish Gandhi who has been exhorting the students to cultivate virtues and good character.  He said he tried to apply this ideal in his life and it helped him to achieve success in every venture he attempted.

               Ajay Gupta told the press conference that the Meritorious Students Felicitation ceremony  organized by CMS many times in the year were highly inspiring to him. By witnessing these ceremonies he made up his mind to get into the IAS so that he parents would get the ovation parents of other meritorious students received at such ceremonies.  He said the practice adopted by CMS in felicitating meritorious students at different occasions during the year are sources of motivation to students and said this was a novel practice.  He told that a CMS students draw a lesson from the meritorious students that hard work is most rewarding and therefore they should also emulate the example of these high successful students. he informed that he was one among these who drew inspiration form such occasions.  He had always dreamt of his parents being facilitated on the dais as parents of meritorious students were. 

               Ajay Gupta said he would try to serve the people through his work as an IAS officer. He said he was lucky to have studied in CMS which inspires the students to set ambitious goals in life. He informed that he had offered geography and psychology as optional subjects in the IAS examination. He is the son of Mr. Mahesh Chandra Gupta, Assistant Financial Manager in the Scooters India Limited, Lucknow. His elder brother is an IIT engineer and is currently working in the World Bank as Financial Consultant.

               The vice Principal Mrs. Padma Dheer of CMS Station Road branch and Mrs. D. Watal, then vice-principal of CMS, Station Road, where Ajay Gupta was a student told the pressmen that Ajay Gupta had secured 76% marks in ISC examinations 1997. They told that Ajay Gupta was an exceptional student of her branch and his classmates believed that he would one day achieve something remarkable because of his total devotion to his studies.

               Mrs. Padma Dheer informed that a number of students of her branch are selected in various professional entrance examinations like IIT, Medical and Management etc. every year. She further said it was difficult to take count of the students of the branch selected in these entrance examinations because the number of such selected students is very large.  A large number of CMS students have received fellowships from foreign countries, such as USA, UK, Germany, Japan, Australia and a number of other countries. She told that the CMS students are establishing new records in their professions either in India or overseas. She was happy to state that the CMS practice of continuous encouragement and inspiration to its students has been quite a success as it has proved in the selection of its students in professional entrance examinations.
