4-day International English Literature Olympiad begins at CMS

Scintillating online opening of 'Odyssey International-2021'




Lucknow, 11 August:The four-day International English Literature Olympiad 'Odyssey International-2021' organized by City Montessori School, Rajajipuram Campus I, began today with formal inauguration by the Chief Guest, Ms Sunita Aron, Senior Resident Editor, Hindustan Times. District Magistrate of Lucknow, Mr Abhishek Prakash, IAS, presided over the function. Around 35 student teams from South Africa, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Nepal, Kuwait, Germany, Indonesia and various states of India are participating in this Olympiad. The educational-cultural programme presented by CMS students in the honour of these participating teams from India and abroad in the online inauguration ceremony enthralled everyone. A fun-filled series of competitions like Poetry writing, Choreography, Character in the Costume, Debate, Cartoons making, Drama, Cinematics, Choir etc. will be held during the four days of Odyssey International. Besides, 'Virtual Discussion' and 'Open Mike Session' will also be held for the participating teams.

In her inaugural address, Chief Guest, Ms Sunita Aron, Senior Resident Editor, Hindustan Times, congratulated CMS Rajajipuram Campus for organizing a wonderful online programme and giving students a global platform for cultural and literary activities in this period of Corona pandemic. Presinding over the ceremony, District Magistrate of Lucknow, Mr Abhishek Prakash, IAS, said that English language has the potential to bind the entire world with a cord of unity. He said that such educational activities help in developing a global outlook in the future generation. CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said on this occasion that CMS is trying to teach children the sentiments of unity, tolerance, love and peace through this Olympiad.

Ahead of it, the Convenor of Odyssey International-2021 and Principal of CMS Rajajipuram Campus I, Ms Nisha Pandey welcomed the Chief Guest, the dignified guests and the participating teams and said that this olympiad is organized for holistic development of students especially their humanistic and spiritual growth. The programme began with School Prayer, followed by the Vande Matram song, World Parliament, Choir, Choreography, World Unity Prayer, All Religion Prayer and Prayer Dance that mesmerized the audience. Cultural presentation by Sujatha Vidyalaya, Sri Lanka was the centre of attraction for one and all.
