11th ICFF 2019 organized by CMS Films & Radio Division arouses tremendous enthusiasm amongst children for good, healthy, entertaining cinema

The nine-day International Children's Film Festival held at CMS Kanpur Road Campus auditorium from 4 to 12 April was a wonderful delight for children. It not only provided them good and healthy entertainment after the annual Examinations but also inspired them towards the performing arts-television, cinema and theatre - and opened before them a whole range of new possibilities in career from acting, singing, music, production, direction and so on. It was the biggest film festival, one of a kind, crossing the borders of race and religion and instilling a new sense of globalism in the minds of children. In the expert direction of Mr Varghese Kurian, Head of CMS Computer and Films Division, and his merry band of workers, the Festival flew like a colourful bird in full plumage spreading light and energy in all directions.

Dignitaries who honoured us with their gracious presence were:

Among the film celebrities who graced the festival and inspired the students were:

Mr Boman Irani, Gaurav Garg, Vikas Srivastava, Roshni Walia, Arav Shukla, Nikhil Dwivedi, Susmita Mukherji, Nandita Om Puri, Suhani Bhatnagar, Ashish Singh, Rubal Jain, Aditi Jaiswal, Shahbaz Khan, Abhishek Duhan, Dev Joshi, Sudeepa Singh, Anushka Sen, Darsheel Safari, Yusuf Hussain, Shahbaz Khan, Roomi Siddiqui, Partho Ghosh, Aman Siddiqui, Yunus Khan, Prabhjot Singh, Anirudh Dave, Mahima Gaur, Mohd. Salamat Rahi, Amit Mishra, R J Vikram and others.

The Best Children's Films were shortlisted from 1655 film entries received from 101 countries. The selection of best children's film was done by an international jury comprising Mr Nils Mamros form Denmark, Ms Lali Kiknavelidze from Georgia, Mr Vidyashankar N Nois, Mr Shyama Prasad and Mr Vinod Ganatra from India. Prizes worth Rs ten lakh were given away at the Film Festival for the Best Children’s Films.

Model United Nations (MUN) Conference held at CMS Aliganj I

Inauguration by Mr Sushil Dhule, IPS, S.P. Crime Branch, Lucknow

CMS Aliganj Campus I organized a the two-day Model United Nations (MUN) Conference on 13th and 14th April. The Chief Guest, Shri Sushil Dhule, IPS, SP Crime Branch, Lucknow, formally inaugurated the conference. The occasion was graced by the presence of several eminent personalities viz., CMS Founder-Manager Dr Jagdish Gandhi; President, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon; Director of Strategy, Mr Roshan Gandhi; Senior Scientist from England, Dr Roger D Kingdon; Principals of various CMS campuses etc. Senior Principal of CMS Aliganj Campus I, Mrs Jyoti Kashyap heartily welcomed the eminent guests and almost 400 participating students arrived from 28 schools of Delhi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Raibareilly etc. CMS students presented colourful educational-cultural items in the honour of participating students and guests. The MUN is a simulation of UN General Assembly providing a platform to students for discussing international issues and learning about the affairs of the age, international relations and diplomacy.

International Football Tournament ‘CONCORD-2019’

The five-day International Football Tournament ‘CONCORD 2019’ was organized by CMS Station Road Campus from 31 March to 4 April 2019. Students of various states of India and Nepal participated. Army Public School, Noida won the Girls’ Championship Trophy and Golden Boot Club, Ghaziabad bagged the Boys’ Championship Trophy. Chief Guest, Renowned Olympian and Hockey gold medallist, Mr Ravindra Pal Singh honoured and awarded the prizes. Mrs Vera Hajela, Principal of CMS Station Road Campus was the Convenor.
