Meet the Jewels of our Institution, Our Principals

Ms Susmita Basu, Head, Quality Assurance and Innovations Department

With degrees in B.A. (Hons.), M.A. in Economics and B.Ed., Ms Susmita Basu joined the Innovation Wing of CMS as a Teacher Facilitator for Economics and Commerce in July 2001. She also worked at CMS Chowk Campus as an ISC teacher for Economics for a short spell in the year 2003 and in 2004 before being promoted as the Coordinator, Pre-primary and Primary section at Innovation Wing. Her administrative acumen, knowledge of curriculum and standards, and commitment to the cause of education was acknowledged by the management and she was appointed the Head of the Innovation Wing in 2006. In July 2010, she was promoted to the post of Head, Quality Assurance and Innovations Department (QAID) of CMS to look after academic and administrative needs of campuses. In August 2016, she was designated Superior Principal, CMS, in addition to being Head, QAID.

Dr Kalpana Tripathi, Principal, CMS Mahanagar Campus

Dr Kalpana Tripathi is the Principal of CMS Mahanagar Campus. She holds a doctorate (Ph.D) from Lucknow University. She joined CMS Rajendra Nagar as a junior teacher in 1988 and was soon shifted to CMS Station Road Campus as an ICSE Biology teacher the very next year in 1989. Two years later, in 1991, she was made an ISC Biology teacher. Dr Tripathi's passion for children and teaching brought out the best in her and her commitment to the cause of education was soon recognized by the management. In 2001, she was promoted to be the Principal of CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus III, where she served for 13 years till 2013 when she was appointed the Principal of CMS Mahanagar, an ISC campus. Under Dr Kalpana Tripathi’s exemplary leadership, the campus organizes two international events, MACFAIR and Reflections, and is producing high achievers who are national rank holders in board exams every year.

Miss Manjit Batra, Senior Principal, CMS Gomti Nagar Campus

Senior Principal, Miss Manjit Batra joined the institution in 1975 as a Pre-Primary teacher and was promoted to the post of Principal of CMS Station Road Campus in 1981. Working in this capacity from 1981 to 1995, she conceptualized and initiated the International Computer Festival, COFAS which has become one of the most popular CMS international events. Having substantiated her caliber as the Principal of a senior branch for 14 long years, she was entrusted with the reigns of the newly established CMS Gomti Nagar Campus where again she proved her mettle and gave best results in the entire country. Presently, she is the Senior Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I & Campus II and the Cambridge Section at CMS Gomti Nagar is also being nurtured and developed in her guidance. The Council for ISC Examination has appointed Miss Batra as its Inspector of Schools in India. She is also appointed as a Supervisor for conducting the SAT and Advance Placement (AP) Examinations in Uttar Pradesh, and has been the President of the Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate. Her campus organizes International Environment Olympiad to sensitize students all over the world towards preserving the environment.

Mrs Vera Hajela, Principal, CMS Station Road Campus

With degrees in MA, B.Ed. and DPA (gold medalist), Mrs Vera Hajela, an excellent administrator, joined CMS Aliganj Campus I as Primary teacher in 2000. In 2001, she became junior teacher and in 2002 she got promoted to be an ISC English teacher. In view of her excellent administrative skills, Mrs Hajela was soon promoted to the post of Principal of CMS Asharfabad in 2011 and then that of Rajendra Nagar Campus II for a short duration before being again promoted to be the Principal of CMS Mahanagar Campus II, an ISC Campus. She is now working as the Principal of CMS Station Road Campus since 2016. Mrs Vera Hajela is the brain behind organizing sporting event,'Concord', a Football Tournament and the International Youth Convention on Commerce and Economics 'IYCCE'. Her students are making a name not only in India but also in several foreign universities, many of them on 100% scholarship.

Dr Vineeta Kamran, Principal, CMS Kanpur Road Campus

Regarded a doyen of the Quality Movement in schools, Dr Vineeta Kamran has a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in English. She joined CMS RDSO Campus as Assistant Teacher in 1990. The very next year, her administrative acumen led to her promotion to the post of Vice Principal and then as Principal of CMS RDSO Campus. After ably managing the campus for 5 years, Dr Kamran was appointed the Principal of the newly established Kanpur Road Campus in the year 1996, a post which she holds till date. She has also been elected as the President of the Council for ISC Schools.

For her outstanding services to the cause of education, Dr Kamran has been bestowed several prestigious awards and honours, some notable ones being the Helen Keller Award for outstanding vision, dedication and commitment to excellence at 2nd ICSQCC in 2015 at Mauritius; ‘Best Speaker’ Award by the Iranian Society of Quality Managers (ISQM) in Tehran, 2007; the Derozio award for Human Enrichment and Excellence in Education by Council for the ICSE, New Delhi in 2016 etc. Dr Kamran’s campus is pioneer in organizing the International School Cricket Premier League (ISCPL) in which school teams from all over the world compete for the coveted trophy. She also organizes International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICSQCC) in which thousands of students from schools world over participate.

Mrs Nisha Pandey, Senior Principal, CMS Rajajipuram Campus I

Mrs Nisha Pandey is the Senior Principal of CMS Rajajipuram Campus I. She has degrees inB.Ed. and M.A. (English). Having joined CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I as a teacher in year 2000, she was promoted to the post of Pre-primary Incharge in 2010. Her ability to take up senior leadership roles was spotted when she was the Director of the CISV camp at CMS and this rapidly led to her elevation as the Principal of CMS Anand Nagar (Junior) Campus in 2011. In 2013, she was again promoted to become the Principal of the CMS Mahanagar Campus, an ICSE campus. In recognition of her outstanding abilities, distinguished service, and her innovations, Mrs Pandey was appointed Senior Principal of CMS Rajajipuram, an ISC campus. Mrs Pandey took the Odyssey festival (an international event celebrating English Literature) to new heights, and has many innovations to her credit, for example, the fabulous annual Inter-school Christmas Carol competition and the environmental film making by the students of her campus. She is also on the CISV organising committee of CMS.

Mrs Jyoti Kashyap, Senior Principal, CMS Aliganj Campus I

Mrs Jyoti Kashyap joined CMS Mahanagar Campus as a Pre-Primary teacher in 1979 with a degree in B.Sc. and M.A. (Sociology).She was soon made the In-charge of the English Medium section at the campus. In 1996, she was declared the Best ICSE Teacher for teaching Biology and was shortly promoted to the post of Vice Principal of CMS Mahanagar Campus.Her administrative and leadership qualities soon led to her promotion to the post of Principal of CMS Mahanagar Campus II, a post she occupied till 2011. Thereafter, she was promoted as Senior Principal of CMS Aliganj Campus I, an ISC Campus. Her campus was declared to be among the Top 50 Schools of India for Shaping Success in National Curriculum Category by Future 50 Schools. Education World School Rankings 2016 announced the campus as 5th in Uttar Pradesh and 3rd among the best schools in Lucknow. Her campus organizes Celesta International—an International Festival of Music and Dance wherein school teams from all over the world enthusiastically participate.

Mrs Aditi Sharma, Principal, CMS Chowk Campus

Mrs Aditi Sharma is the Principal of CMS Chowk Campus. She has a MCA degree along with a degree in B.Ed. Having joined CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I in 1991 as a pre-primary teacher, she was made Junior In-charge in 1995 and was promoted as Headmistress, Pre-primary and Primary section in 2001, a post that she held for next ten years. Her administrative capabilities soon found favour with the school management and she was entrusted with setting up the new CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II. In 2014, she was handed over the reins of CMS Asharfabad Campus, a junior campus as its Principal. In recognition of her distinguished abilities, she was appointed as the Principal of CMS Chowk, an ISC Campus, in July 2017. The Campus excels in academic achievement under her dynamic leadership as well as in extra-curricular activities like robotics, music, and sports. Her Campus ably organizes the International Science Festival ‘Quanta’ under her guidance which invites participation of hundreds of students from across the globe.

Ms Deepa Tewari, Senior Principal, CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus I

Ms Deepa Tewari is the senior Principal of CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus I. She joined CMS as a teacher in 1979 and holds the degrees of M.A. and B.Ed. Leadership Qualities, dedication, determination, and genuine concern for children as a teacher reflected in her from the beginning and she was soon promoted as the Principal of CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus II in 1985. In 2011, she was handed the bigger responsibility as Senior Principal of Rajendra Nagar Campus I, an ISC campus. Under her brilliant leadership, the Campus has progressed tremendously and added many a feather to its cap. Under her dynamic stewardship, her campus organizes Quest — An International Festival of Biotechnology, inviting school students from all over the world.

Mrs Aruna Naidu, Principal, CMS RDSO Campus

Mrs Aruna Naidu holds the degrees of M.A and B.Ed. and has had a rich teaching experience of fifteen years prior to sixteen years in the role of Head of the school. Mrs Naidu joined CMS Rajajipuram Campus II in 1985 as a primary teacher when the school was running only till class IV with a handful of students. As the school progressed, Mrs Naidu began teaching higher classes and in 2002, the management entrusted her with the bigger responsibility of managing the Rajajipuram Campus II as Incharge. In 2008, she was appointed the Principal of this campus, the responsibility which she discharged with complete dedication for 10 years, before being elevated as the Principal of CMS RDSO, an ISC campus. While she was the Principal of CMS Rajajipuram Campus II, International Youth Fest that her campus organized, touched new heights and attracted entries of students from all over the world. She also convened Geofest, an international Geography Olympiad in 2017.

Mrs Abha Anant, Principal, CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I

Rated as the top school in the country by renowned education magazines like the Education World and Fortune, CMS Gomti Nagar Campus is led by the efficient and dynamic principal, Mrs Abha Anant. Mrs Anant joined CMS Aliganj Campus in 1990 as a Primary teacher and later shifted to CMS Mahanagar in 1992. Her administrative qualities were acknowledged during her brief stint at CMS Innovation Wing and she was appointed the Headmistress of CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus III in 1996. Her single-minded dedication to the cause of education propelled her to the post of the Principal of CMS Anand Nagar campus in the year 2000 where she served till 2011 and thereafter as the Principal of CMS Indira Nagar, an ICSE Campus. With her hard work and leadership qualities, she helped her students excel in the ICSE board examinations. Her excellent performance and dynamic leadership led to her promotion as the Principal of the ISC Campus at CMS Gomti Nagar I in 2014. Under her dynamic leadership, CMS Gomti Nagar I organises the International Young Mathematicians' Convention, IYMC in which students from all over the world come to participate.

Mrs Ruchi Bhuwan Joshi, Principal, CMS Indira Nagar Campus

Principal of CMS Indira Nagar Campus, Mrs Ruchi Bhuwan Joshi is a post graduate in English with L.T. qualification and has a PG Diploma in Guidance and Communication. She joined CMS Mahanagar Campus as a junior teacher in 1991 and was promoted to be ICSE In-charge in 1999.In 2001, she was elevated to the post of Vice Principal of CMS Mahanagar Campus III. In recognition of her outstanding capabilities and dedication, Mrs Joshi was appointed the Principal of CMS Indira Nagar Campus in 2014. Under her dynamic leadership, the campus, has improved infrastructure and it holds the distinction of organizing the International Peace Festival- ‘Confluence,’ in which competitions focused on World Unity and World Peace are held.
