IT Day

The world of computers has woven a web around us that is interesting and fascinating. It however requires great amount of planning and work to make our “generation next” ready to embrace this world and be prepared to face the challenges that come with it.

Keeping this in mind we observed “IT Day “on July 7th 2017 in the Preprimary section of City Montessori School, Gomtinagar 1.Since computers requires a bit of dexterity and logic it was confined to the Kindergarten students only ,where they were asked to play online games using their own logics and only under supervision of the teachers.

They were also educated about keeping pace with the changing times and how these kinds of training will play a great role in the times to come. The assembly was also planned around this topic and was well put up where various uses of computers were discussed.
We as always planned and executed the day in a perfect way which as teachers and facilitators is our duty and our calling.

Science Experiment Day

Instilling scientific knowledge and logical acumen in the children should start at the earliest possible age. It will help children question and understand various processes around them and their environment in an intelligent fashion.

Keeping this thought in mind, we the Pre Primary section of City Montessori School, Gomtinagar 1 observed and celebrated “Science Experiment Day” On July 2nd 2017. This day kicked off with a usual dedicated board on the said theme, put up in the lobby. Later it unfolded by setting up various experiments in the lobby to sensitize the children with real world scientific information. To name a few the following experiments were performed in front of the children, which made the children awestruck and spellbound.

Creating a Glass Harmonica with water in bowls.Showing the concept of -heavy items sink and light float using a coin and a thermocol respectively.

Air pores help in floating was shown by using an orange that floats when it has the peel and sinks when it is unpeeled.Air has weight was shown by deflating a balloon hung on a stick which causes it to tilt.

Filtration was shown by using a filter paper. The concept of primary colours was also demonstrated and how they mix to give various shades of secondary colours.Vinegar and baking soda when mixed evolves Carbon dioxide which was used to inflate a balloon.

All the experiments were very eye-catching and made an indelible mark on the tiny brains of the students, which was precisely what we wanted and strived towards.

Global Tiger Day

To create awareness and a sense of responsibility for the conservation of ecology among the children and society, the Pre Primary section of City Montessori School, Gomtinagar 1 observed and celebrated “Global Tiger Day” on July 31st, 2017, although it was scheduled for July 29th, 2017, but that being a day off for the students it was celebrated today i.e. Monday July 31, 2017.

Tigers naturally exist and thrive in the forests and jungles. If their habitat is protected and conserved it will naturally translate into their well being  .Therefore the children were educated about conserving the green cover on  earth which would subsequently transform into conservation and preservation of the wild life on the whole and tigers in particular. Poaching and killing of tigers for their skin for aesthetic purposes was also brought forth as a concern and the students were told to mitigate that as much as they can by  boycotting goods made directly from tiger skin and other body parts.

The children made tiger masks in the class as part of their activity of the day and coloured on the sheets specifically designed to mark the day. A dedicated board stood tall in the lobby to assert the message it conveyed. The assembly as well reverberated with the theme.
As always we were able to pass on a socially relevant message in a picture perfect manner which is what CMS is known and stands for.

Umbrella Day

Thursday, July 27th, 2017 was celebrated as Umbrella Day in the Pre Primary section of CMS Gomtinagar 1 .The season of monsoon with drizzle and downpour making each day a celebration in itself was the idea behind which this day was celebrated. The use of umbrella is almost inevitable in the scorching sun, the drizzle and heavy shower. Reinforcing this concept was an objective which got achieved as a bonus to the fun the children had while enjoying this exercise.

The children brought colourful umbrellas which they flaunted with joy and elation. A special assembly was organized to mark this day where the children were educated about rain and the paraphernalia that is needed to protect ourselves from the downpour. The children had great fun listening to this information which was later marked by rhymes like “Pitter patter rain drops, Singing in the rain, ghode jaisi chaal etc.”The Sun also was playing hide and seek with the clouds which added to the beauty of the merriment and the delight of our students. As always it was a fun day well planned and nicely organized.

Pre Primary Assembly, A Visit by the nurse (July 13, 2017)

With the rainy season on in full swing and so are the mosquitoes and the insects posing danger to the well being and life of all we the Pre Primary section of City Montessori School Gomtinagar 1 thought of a hosting a nurse to inform the children the importance of basic hygiene and its importance to our health.

This season and the dangers that come with it also give us an opportunity to teach the children the importance of cleanliness around us and how it plays a pivotal role in the health of the society at large.

In the special assembly our “In house” nurse Mrs. Raj Lakshmi came and told the children about the things pertinent in the given context. Rhymes like “Found a peanut “which is apt for the perspective where sung which were greatly enjoyed by the children. As an Institution we never fall short of sharing our responsibilities in the social milieu and we once again did that effectively.

Van Mahotsav (July 5, 2017)

The forest, the plants and the greenery around is a prerequisite to the existence of human race .Our life and our wellbeing directly depend on this and therefore it becomes our duty to sensitize the children in favour of nourishing and saving the ecology.Keeping this in mind we the preprimary section of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar 1 observed Van mahotsav on July 5th 2017.

Besides teachers talking and educating the children in the classes, a special assembly was organized to highlight this day. The parts of the plant was shown in the form of a presentation , followed by a video on the importance of the plants .They were told about oxygen, its importance in breathing and how it is the plants that provide us with this very important life saving gas.

As always we excelled in conveying the message loud and clear, which is precisely what we attempt day in and day out?

Yoga Day

July 4th 2017, the Pre Primary section of City Montessori School, Gomtinagar 1 observed and celebrated Yoga Day. The lobby was well put up with a huge board telling about the importance of Yoga and its benefits to health.

Teachers spoke and educated the children on the importance of healthy body and how regular Yoga can help them attain that goal. This was followed by a dedicated assembly where the children were taught some basic asana.

The children were sensitized and educated on the idea of Yoga and how we as Indians play a nodal role in this entire idea. As always we at CMS consider this our duty to play a role in educating the society and we play this role consistently.

KidFit

We at CMS aim to provide a highly structured age progressive education to a kid in order to facilitate his/her holistic learning. Keeping this in mind CMS Gomtinagar 1 Preprimary section went ahead with the KID-FIT Programme for 3 days engagement to see how it can enhance fitness levels and also promote better learning.

The very first day the trainer started the programme with the learners with few warm-up exercises. Thereafter they were given hockey sticks and asked to pass the ball in between different hurdles. Second activity was to toss the ball with help of scoop crossing different hurdles wherein running, jumping, throwing were stressed upon.

Second day activities were “ Jump on and reach the goal “ where learners were asked to step in Hoola Hoop and move to the next ring which was in turn passed by the other student. Second activity was “cross in between the hurdles” tossing the ball and reach the finishing point by making pyramid and hitting with the ball. It focused on developing and enhancing motor skills, eye hand coordination and incremental increase of the concentration of the learners.

Third day started with the introduction of equipments like ladder, cones, balancing tunnels, parachute, hoola hoops and rubber disc. The students were asked to start from number disc where they were supposed to hop on the number disc then to the hoola hoops, heading towards the tunnel then passing through the cones. Thereafter balancing was demonstrated and taught. Jumping on the ladder and reaching the finishing point was another activity.

Parachute was also used and to perform various activities. This three day progressive programme was conducted by KIDFIT focusing on enhancement of eye hand coordination and motor skills. This programme emphasized on good health through rigorous exercise and physical activity.

We would like to thank the visionary management for this opportunity which was a great and fulfilling experience for the children.

Vidya Ka Parv (July 1st 2017)

July 1st came with sparkling bright day full of enthusiasm and energy, as it marked the 59th session of our prestigious institution. Religiously following the motto and motive of our school, we the Pre Primary section of City Montessori School, Gomtinagar 1, celebrated this day as “Vidya Ka Parv”.

The teachers planned and executed various activities in synchrony with the day we were celebrating. The students were told about the fun and importance of the process of edification and how it will make us great one day. They were told why friends make our lives pleasurable and entertaining and how school gives us the interface to make friends and memories for life.

A special assembly was put up by the teachers where in the concept of “energy saving and electricity conservation” was put forth by means of a wonderful skit followed by the foot tapping song “bijli hum bachayenge”.

The bright smiles and peppy laughter’s overcame any tears that came along with school opening which precisely what Pre Primary education is all about.
